Thank you for looking into our Colombia hosting program. We hope that you will find answers too many of your questions about Colombia and our hosting program here. However, if you have more questions, please reach out to one of us. We would be more than happy to chat with you about hosting and Colombia.
There are almost 100,000 orphans in Colombia. Many are orphaned because of poverty, civil war, HIV/AIDS, or parental alcohol or drug use. Our host program aims to bring Colombian orphans into American homes, to expose them to the love of a family, and ultimately find them adoptive homes. The program also aims to help the children improve the vision of their life and provide them a direction for their life plan.
Like Ukraine, the statistics for Colombian children after they age out of the foster or orphanage system are grim. We aim to make a difference in those lives.
Hosting is your opportunity to make an incredible impact and change the life of an orphan. We started our hosting program in order to establish relationships with the children. Adoption is the ultimate goal of this host program, and there are extra training requirements that reflect that. We also want the children to come to America to experience a new culture and to experience life in a family. Many of the children that come to visit have never had the chance to live in a healthy family environment. Most are taken from their homes due to neglect, abuse, lack of ability for parent to provide or death of a parent.
Our kids come for 4 weeks during the summer months of July - August and about 4 weeks during the winter months of November - December. They will arrive in California and Texas. The cost to host from Colombia is $1800 per child.
If you would like to host, or even to sponsor a grant for a child, please reach out to us. We would love to tell you more about hosting and how it can change the life of an orphan. Sign up to view the photo list here.
